Student Chromebook Logins
1st and 2nd grade students will now be able to login to the Chromebooks using a “QuickCard”. Cards have been printed and laminated for all 1st and 2nd grade students and will be delivered to staff by the end of the week. All other grades will continue to login with their email address and passwords. If staff wish to continue having their 1st and 2nd grade students login with their email address and password they are able to still do that, the QuickCards are just an option. If there are students in 3rd-5th grade that need special assistance logging into their device QuickCards can be printed for those students by your building tech.
Open and power on the Chromebook. A new season themed login screen will load.
Students will have the option to click the top grey “Sign in with Microsoft” button or the blue “Sign-in with QuickCard” button. (If they click the sign in with Microsoft button they will be prompted to enter their email and password like they have always done.)
Clicking the blue QuickCard button will open a camera window, the students simply hold their QuickCard up to the camera and they will be signed into the Chromebook.
Once signed in the Chromebook will automatically load the Launch Pad tab in the browser. The Launch Pad will have just a few applications in it to start. Students simply click on the icon for the app they want to use and they will be automatically logged into the app. The Launcher is just a tab in the Chromebook browser window, the Chromebook will still be able to open any other tabs and websites you need the students to use.
Teacher Launch Pad Access & Student at Home Access
The Classlink Launch Pad can be accessed from any browser window by visiting https://launchpad.classlink.com/londonderry .
You will see the same basic login screen that the students see on their Chromebooks. Click Sign in the Microsoft
If you are on a work computer you should be taken right into the Launch Pad
If you are signing in on a home computer for the first time you will be prompted to enter your Londonderry email address and password
3. You will see many of the same applications your students see in the Launch Pad, but depending on your grade level you may see additional teacher only apps such as the class QuickCards app that allows you to print QuickCards for your students.
4. There are other features will see as a teacher such as the “My Classes” backpack, “My Links” and “My Analytics”. Feel free to explore these options, but none of them are necessary for the basic functionality of Launch Pad. We will provide more information and training as we built out the Launch Pad.
